I loved that book! I'm 100% more conscious of my breath and have been meaning to invest in some mouth tape. Also, my first experience with an ice bath didn't go as I'd hoped. It was at a wellness event and they had wayyyyy too much ice. As soon as I got in, immediate headache. So while I'm trying to focus on my breathing to settle my body, I also had to contend with a massive headache. Even when I got out I was still nauseated. The headache subsided, but if I moved my head too fast I would become nauseated again. It lasted at least a couple days.
Oh no, that sounds horrible. I'm so sorry. I've heard that some people experience a tinnitus while they are bathing, but normally, it goes away when you warm up again. That's at least what our coach told us. I mean, the ice is an extreme situation for the body, potentially life-threatening. It is a great way for some to experience total focus, silent, reaching nearly a meditative state, and for others it simply doesn't work. Each body is individual, and so are the circumstances.
And for the book: isn't it amazing. So much research, so much wisdom, a real eye-opener.
Yeah. I definitely want to try again in a more controlled environment. While waiting to get a tarot read, I overheard a couple other people saying they had way too much ice too. I had ice in my bra when I got out, LOL.
Great post. Wonderful closing for 2023.
Thanks, Cynthia, I wish you happy holidays.
